Demonstrating 5kV accelerating voltage gives improved ion source efficiency performance in dual inlet and continuous flow modes
In this Technical Note, we focus on one specific factor: the ion source potential voltage and its impact on ion source efficiency. We will demonstrate that operating the Elementar IRMS instruments at a higher ion source voltage (commonly known as the “accelerating voltage”) leads to improved ionization efficiency, and thus instrument sensitivity.
