National Service Manager

What you can look forward to accomplishing

The National Service Manager satisfies all post sale customer requests promptly and professionally, ensuring customers’ needs and expectations are met. The NSM is responsible for driving the service business, proactively engaging internal staff for effectiveness, efficiency, and 100% customer satisfaction. This role will continuously use analytical data to perform mathematical functions that drive the overall business forward.  The NSM will be a primary driver in the development of Field Engineers and Technical Support staff.  This position will deliver optimum customer experience through the operational life of our analytical instruments.  NSM will align Elementar Americas delivery of support to that of the customer’s expectations.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Effectively manages team members, including field service engineers, technical support staff, and service coordinators, to ensure team objectives and service/sales goals are being carried out.
  • Offer exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by upselling products and services and taking care of any customer concerns or complaints quickly and professionally.
  • Actively engage all current and future development of service programs.  Assist local and global marketing staff ensuring relevant service-related information is pushed digitally through our website.
  • Implement professional development programs specific to staff for retention, growth, and continous learning.
  • Documentation and mapping of all service process for continuous improvement.
  • Regularly audits technical support solutions being provided to ensure all standards are met and that repair work is carried out effectively, correctly, and thoroughly.
  • Standardize service onboarding training while collaborating with the scientific affairs and technical services manager.
  • Improve systems by leveraging technology specifically relating to scheduling of engineers, and ticket management.
  • Generate reports through various platforms to provide analysis on key performance indicators tied to MTTR/MTTI, phone coverage statistics, CRM ticket completions, maintenance contract statuses; disseminating them on a frequent basis to management and team leads for further evaluation. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Skills and experience that you need to bring to our company

  • Minimum BS Degree, MS preferred, in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, pharmaceutical sciences.
  • Minimum 5 years related experience preferably including a mixture of Field Service, sales support, Service Management and operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with customers, field personnel and international colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task.
  • Outgoing personality with strong communication skills
  • Effective relationship building, negotiating and reasoning skills; self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Experienced working with a CRM system and the MS Office Applications.

Service & Installation Engineer – Texas

Elementar Americas is a 100% owned subsidiary of Elementar Analysensysteme GmbH. Located near Frankfurt/Germany, Elementar is the world’s leading manufacturer of analytical instruments for the analysis of key elements such as carbon, sulfur, nitrogen, oxygen or hydrogen found in a wide variety of chemical substances, pharmaceutical products, environmental samples, agricultural, food and feed products, petro-chemistry, in education, research or industrial quality control.

With the intention of further expanding our presence throughout North America, we are recruiting for a Service & Installation Engineer—located in the South Texas area.

The Service & Installation Engineer will be responsible for a variety of service related functions including, but not limited to, the repair, maintenance, and installation of Elementar products. Additional responsibilities include the training of customers and Elementar company engineers, continued support of those customers through phone and email contact and at times, product demonstrations for prospective clients. The Service & Installation Engineer will report directly to the National Service Manager.



Roles and responsibilities

  • On-site installation, validation, repair, and maintenance of Elementar products—including Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers (IRMS), combustion analyzers, induction analyzers and peripherals
  • Providing technical training to customers, technical support personnel and service engineers
  • Accurate documentation and reporting of all repairs and product failures and, when applicable, providing design change and improvement recommendations
  • The maintenance and control of the engineer's spare part inventory in accordance with the administrative policies
  • Providing customers and other personnel within assigned region necessary support and documentation required to effect instrument repairs, maintenance, and installations
  • Travel as required to provide service support to customers and other company personnel
  • Ensure timely submission of all necessary reports and other required paperwork
  • Promote sales of Service Contracts and Warranty Extensions
  • Intensive training and certification program requires periodic travel to the manufacturing facilities in Manchester, UK and Langenselbold, Germany.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry or similar scientific field is required, graduate degrees preferred
  • Experience with analytical instrumentation, with an applied knowledge of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers (IRMS) and combustion analyzers
  • Effectively communicate with customers and support staff in person, via phone or email
  • Ability to produce clear and concise maintenance documentation
  • Travel approximately 75% with valid driver’s license and passport
  • Experienced working with a CRM system and the MS Office Applications
  • Ability to work from home office to provide remote technical support
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Regional Sales Manager – Eastern Canada

The ideal candidate must be skilled in the development and execution of a territorial business plan. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Regional Sales Manager, will work closely with assigned product management, marketing and other assets to develop an understanding of the territory landscape and customer needs throughout the geography. While doing so, the Regional Sales Manager will aggressively engage customers, navigate the sales process and generate a positive professional impact with decision-makers, channel partners and key stakeholders.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Consistently meet or exceed financial targets for profitable sales volume, share of wallet and strategic objectives at assigned customer accounts within the territory.
  • Expand market position by identifying new customers, developing prospects and penetrating competitive accounts.
  • Present commercial and technical sales arguments to potential customers, taking responsibility for the complete sales cycle from preparing bids to negotiating prices and closing contracts.
  • Act as an interface between the customer, Service Engineer and after sales team to ensure an excellent overall customer experience.
  • Represent the company at trade shows and events; while taking ownership of essential marketing activities.
  • Forecast trends and potential market opportunities in close contact with the sales management and the global marketing team.
  • Utilize and maintain Customer Relationship Management database.

Requirements:

  • B.S., M.S. or Ph.D in scientific discipline such as chemistry or biology
  • At least three years of sales experience in technical, analytical or capital equipment sales environment—including HPLC, GC, Mass Spec, Elemental Analyzers, etc.
  • Effective relationship building, negotiating and reasoning skills; self-motivated with the ability to work independently

Elementar is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to assist with the digital marketing, tradeshow and social media activities for the Americas business. The Marketing Coordinator will be called upon to introduce a significant shift in local marketing mix—moving the organization to a more dynamic, digitally driven marketing strategy. 

The Marketing Coordinator will collaborate with key players on the global marketing team to assign resources to projects and develop local campaigns while adhering to branding guidelines.


Roles and responsibilities

  • Coordinate presence at trade shows and other industry events by identifying, assembling, and allocating resources; measures and analyzes ROI and costs of lead generation
  • Facilitate the production of all assets needed to execute digital campaigns, including content, creative, web, email and social media elements
  • Align all communications, promotional efforts and messaging across channels and through the sales organization—ensuring consistency with tone, content, brand, etc.
  • Generate aggregate growth of qualified inbound leads through traditional marketing and awareness efforts but also by attracting and converting targeted website traffic through digital channels
