Stable isotope ratio measurements at compound level

The use of chromatographic techniques in combination with isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS) allows isotope ratio measurements at a compound level. The ability to investigate at the compound-to-compound level brings further insight than that which is available at the “bulk isotope” level and is therefore a highly complementary technique across many application areas such as geochemistry, food analysis, medical, and pharmaceuticals.

IRMS can be combined with both gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (LC) techniques. We are an official Value-Added Reseller (VAR) partner of Agilent Technologies, a leader in life sciences, diagnostics, and applied chemical markets. Working in collaboration with Agilent Technologies, our GC- and LC-IRMS solutions deliver market-leading performance to scientists across many research areas.

Our portfolio of chromatography inlets

We offer inlets both for gas and liquid chromatography to couple with our mass spectrometers.

For GC-IRMS, our GC5 gas chromatography systemoffers class-leading chromatography and sensitivity for a range of organic compound classes including alkanes, fatty acids, amino acids and natural gases. Compound-specific isotope ratio analysis of carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen and oxygen is achieved with dedicated furnace chemistries for the highest possible performance.

For LC-IRMS solutions, we are able to offer two different solutions depending on the sample types you wish to analyze. The two solutions are built around different oxidation strategies.

Our LiquiFace system is a “traditional” LC-IRMS interface which uses a wet-chemical oxidation technique to oxidize organic carbon to CO2 and is the ideal solution for academic laboratories performing analysis over a broad range of application areas.

For contract analysis laboratories wishing to detect fraudulent adulteration of honey, our new iso CHROM® LC offers a highly robust, straightforward solution for high throughput analysis. Harnessing our expertise in high-temperature oxidation chemistry, the iso CHROM® LC converts dissolved honey carbohydrates to CO2 with exceptional chromatographic performance. This technique offers a significantly improved up-time for honey laboratories resulting in a greater return on investment. The iso CHROM® LC is exclusively available as part of our dedicated BiovisION Honey solution
