The end of the year is approaching, most cities are already festively decorated, and the first cookies have already been baked in many places. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the trust you have shown us. Thank you for the exciting contacts we have been able to establish with you this year. We are always delighted to share our passion for elemental analysis and to contribute to sustainable quality control, research, and development with our instruments. Before we say goodbye with this blog article, we would like to look back on the year 2025 together. For us, there were several highlights that made this year special.

Our highlights of 2025

Expert forums for elemental and TOC analysis

At the top of the list are our expert forums for elemental and TOC analysis. Around 60 experts from research, universities, industry, and public institutions visited us in Langenselbold in April. The aim of the expert forums is to provide a platform for professional exchange between experts and our employees on current developments in research and laboratory practice. As you can see from the happy faces, we seem to have been very successful in this endeavor. We are already looking forward to the next exchange with the community: The next expert forums for elemental and TOC analysis are planned for 2027. Integration of Elementar Korea

In November 2024, we expanded our global presence with the founding of Elementar Korea. This direct connection enables us to guarantee high-quality customer service in Korea, with faster deliveries, short response times, and quick service support. This year, we worked together to grow together as Elementar – as a team, but also with shared processes and systems. That's why many colleagues from Korea visited Langenselbold this year, as did our teams in Hanam City.

Your blog highlights 2025

We asked ourselves which of the topics we covered in our blog were most interesting to you. The result is a colorful mix of topics from this year and last year – from all-time classics such as sample preparation to doping with synthetic steroids or wastewater treatment and the role of TOC analysis in process control. If you missed any of the articles or would like to read them again, here are the top 3 most-read blog articles of this year in descending order.

Efficient wastewater treatment and the role of TOC in process control

Wastewater treatment plants, often hidden on the outskirts of our cities and towns, play a critical role in our modern society. In the following article, we will focus on this hidden but important infrastructure and shed light on the role of TOC (Total Organic Carbon) concentration in the process control of wastewater treatment plants.

Detecting synthetic steroids – how stable isotope analysis supports the values of the Olympic games

The practice of doping in sport dates back to ancient times. Athletes are said to have used various substances to improve their performance as early as the first Olympic Games in 776 BC. Today, regular doping tests are carried out to ensure fair competitions. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has introduced stable isotope analysis as a mandatory method for doping control in sport. Find out more in our latest article.

Finding the right sample weight for elemental analysis

Choosing the right sample weight is crucial in elemental analysis - not only for precise results, but also for an economically efficient analysis process. The key principle to follow is simple: use a sample that is as small as possible while still being as large as necessary. But what does that mean in practice? Find out more in our blog article.
