University of Lyon 1 and the Institute of Analytical Sciences use Elementar technology to advance lung cancer research
Researchers at the Institute of Analytical Sciences (ISA) at University of Lyon 1 are using Elementar’s GC5 and isoPrime100 systems to investigate stable isotope signatures in lung cancer samples. By combining bulk isotope analysis with compound-specific isotope analysis of amino acids, the team is exploring how isotope patterns can provide new insights into cancer metabolism.
The research focuses on developing reliable analytical approaches for complex and limited biopsy samples. Using Elementar technology, the team has established a workflow capable of analyzing 16 amino acids with high repeatability for δ¹⁵N measurements. The results demonstrate the potential of stable isotope analysis to support the identification of metabolic differences between cancerous and healthy tissue and contribute to the development of potential isotopic biomarkers.
