Quality control of cathode materials for the production of high-performance battery cells

The global upswing in electromobility is leading to greater focus in research, development and industrial production on the performance and quality of lithium-ion and, increasingly, sodium-ion batteries. Cathode materials are at the heart of these energy storage systems. Here they play a vital role in determining the battery’s energy density, service life, safety and charging behavior. 

Analytical methods – elemental analysis in particular – are becoming more important in order to meet the rising demands for reliability and production quality.
