Determination of carbon content in cathode materials of alkaline manganese batteries

Alkaline manganese batteries are among the most common household batteries around the world. The main constituents of an alkaline manganese battery are zinc (anode), manganese dioxide (cathode), and potassium hydroxide solution as the alkaline electrolyte. Targeted adjustment of the carbon content in the cathode material of alkaline manganese batteries is a central means of optimizing a cell’s conductivity, voltage stability, and lifespan.
